We left Atlanta, crossed Alabama, and went into Northern Mississippi where we got on the Natchez Trace. The Trace is a National Park Senic Highway stretching from Tenn. across the length of Mississippi to Natchez on the Missaissippi River and follows the historic trail.

We arrived safely in Atlanta and immediately began the task of repainting and fixing up the master bedroom. It takes awhile to get all the details right. This was a team effort. We had a great time with our 22 month old grandaughter. Now Lois and I are primed for the work ahead in Bay St Louis, MS. The Lord will guide our path and we hope to arrive Saturday, Feb 24.

RETURN TO LAGNIAPPE 2007

Lois an I are on our way back to Lagniappe via Atlanta where our son,s family live. We left PA Feb. 11 th just before the BIG snow hit! We arrived in Atlanta, Tue. without going through snow, but the cold followed, 20 degrees!

Sheds Through the Fire

The final steps in finishing Sheds of Hope coasters requires them to be place into the flames of a coal fire. The carbon deposited of the aluminum is then partly removed resulting in a patina that makes the design stand out.

The coasters are then wiped with wax to remove some of the carbon.

After the wax is dry the coaster is place in a lathe and polished with steel wool.

This is like what the Lord does to each of as we go through trials. After we get dirty and black, He reaches out, picks us up, and places us in the community to proclaim His glory with our lives. The Sheds of Hope are one way the people of Lagniappe are showing the glory of the Lord.

"Sheds of Hope" Plaque in Production

Production has started! Thirty-four "Sheds of Hope" plaques have been hammered out. This is the first phase of the hammered aluminum process. Each plaque has to be cut out, edged, and colored. Then the plaque is colored to make the lettering and design stand out more. To see where this is being done go to www.arthurarmour.com

Revised Shed Instructions Coming

For the past couple of weeks I have relearned how to use Adobe Photoshop and made revisions to the Shed Kit Instructions. After coping, pasting, drawing, and adding they were faxed to Lagniappe. Look for them soon under Mission Trips on the Lagniappe web site.

Dr Tom the Shed Doctor's House "Shed" Call
What an exciting week my wife and I had at the emerging campus of Lagniappe! It was great to see the Lord working through so many eager people. The campus made big steps forward so 150-200 volunteers can be housed there. In the shadow of the large storm damaged metal shed some of the interns (Tom, Kim, Ryn, and Emily) constructed a demonstration "Shed of Hope". Many more sheds will be built before the summer is over! The teams building them will have a great opportunity to meet and share the Lagniappe of Jesus with the families. Pray for this work.

Sunday started early, up with the sun and The Son.

Together we gathered, ate a fine breakfast thanks to our family of cooks, Eric and Elisha.Then we stood before our almighty Lord and Savior in worship. Jean lead and shared the Word.

An ox was in the ditch and we set about to get him out

By evening progress was made and the ox was partly out of the ditch. The we garthered together and heard from a seasoned shrimp fisherman. He recounted the mighty power of Katrina, and how God spared him and his family as they rode out the storm 35 miles up the Pearl River!

After traveling 1100 miles we saw some "signs" of recovery along I-10 north of Waveland/Bay St Louis. The signs are becoming vertical.

Lois and Tom will be leaving Grove City, Pa. for a return trip to Bay St Lois. We hope to arrive Sat. afternoon. My grand daughtert, Lindsey, collected crayfish from the stream at our cabin to bring along!

The sheds come in a kit, weigh 700 lbs, and are wrapped in plastic. They needed to be loaded onto a trailer. This took team work.

We worshipped at the Gulfport First Presbyterian Church, which was held at a school. Their church was gutted as it was located on the coast.

By the end of Saturday, March 11, the roof was almost done. The owner had taken 6 days off work to do his roof. He and his wife were overjoyed and were very grateful!!

Crew from Memphis, TN that helped with a roof. The man in the orang shirt on the right of the group is the owner. Jean met him just that morning and ask him if he need help with his roof. He did, and by the end of the day the shingles were off and new felt was on.
